A Message from our Founders

It’s our belief every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, to be all that they can be.

That success should not be postcode or country dependent – whether a child grows up in Cumnock or Kisumu they deserve the right to exceptional health, vibrant education and real career opportunities.

There are basic human rights no person should be denied and the chance to succeed must be one of those rights…We cannot go on funding high dependency interventions around the world. Our view is a simple one – equip everyone with the ability to succeed and the conditions in which they can apply that ability. Offer fishing rods not fish.

In the developing world we cannot continue to promote external intervention, the people there have their own positive solutions and we should act as catalysts to help them deliver on those solutions.

And in the developed world we must break the vicious cycle that sees the children of second and third generation unemployed become, all too easily, the fourth generation unemployed.

No-one ever wakes up and deliberately says to themselves, ‘I must fail today’ but sadly not enough of us go to school or work and say, ‘Today, I’m really going to make a positive difference.’

Success for us is enabling every child to be all they can be, as simple and as challenging as that sounds. We will succeed, one way or another.
